Exploring the Bible through Biomimicry is a Bible Study based on biomimicry created for the Bible and nature curious to easily (re)connect. Heather Bennett was introduced to biomimicry while obtaining her Master’s degree in sustainability. When she heard the definition of biomimicry as “the imitation of life’s genius” she immediately thought of the Creator of life, God, and began thinking of biomimicry as “the imitation of God’s genius.” Heather’s love for creation and God deepened as a result, but she was unsure how to apply biomimicry to the ministry of inspiring and equipping Christians to become better stewards of the earth. In 2021, Heather began seminary and caught a glimpse of what her ministry could be with Christians while applying biomimicry. Heather integrated biomimicry into class projects and spent the last two years studying ways to integrate biomimicry with theology. She received two grants through her seminary to attend Biomimicry 3.8’s Discover Nature’s Genius in Costa Rica in December of 2022 and Discover Nature’s Genius for Social Innovation in Tennessee in October of 2023. In between, in March 2023, a generous supporter made it possible to attend Biomimicry Thinking in California.

Note from Heather about Exploring the Bible through Biomimicry

There are a number of Christians and Biblically curious people who are eager to engage with the Bible, but are frustrated by their lack of time, confusion about where to start, and how difficult it can be to understand. This two week Bible study addresses these frustrations through a lens of biomimicry. I believe God gave us two books to learn from and experience Godself: the Bible and nature. Biomimicry, for me, has so many overlaps with the teachings of the Bible and how we are to live in this world.

There are six Life’s Principles in biomimicry and we will begin with evolve to survive. Sign up for the upcoming release.
